As a young student I learned that classical artists arranged their studios so that the windows providing their primary light source would face to the north. It was explained to me that this was so that their light was the truest and least changing. The idea of truth and of a light that enables and befriends the expression of the world in paint was very appealing to me. It was from that instruction that I determined to name my studio for something true and unchanging. Not for this characteristic in my work, which is constantly changing, but for the passion that pushes me. That which I hope is about truth and is as constant as anything in my life.

My greatest joy is that just as my studio is finding a location, albeit a virtual one, my lovely daughter Alyona is coming into her own as an artist and can rightfully share this space with me.

My works will be seen in the gallery page divided by subject. There are portraits, paintings of fish (of all things!) and many locales depicted. Please click on a photo to see the complete section for that subject as there will be several pictures in each. My works are done on canvas or linen using oil paints. There are dropdown price lists separated by each gallery with an overall price list that can be obtained be clicking the "pricing" button. I do portrait commissions and most of the paintings in the portrait section are examples of these. The prices for these can be found at the bottom of the Portrait price list or by contacting me directly. For those of you who cannot wait to purchase my work you can access a dropdown with price lists for each gallery. These will be located under the pricing tab and you can find a paypal access called payments within that same dropdown.

Alyona's galleries are all named with her name to keep her work distinct from mine. Her works are done in pencil or colored pencil and she has developed a style which I know you will appreciate. She is only just 17 and shows amazing promise. She is light years ahead of where her father was at that age. A price list for Alyona's works will be added soon.
